# Squad Leader Overview

> Lead your local developer community with HackerSquad

Squad Leaders are community organizers who run HackerSquad events in their region. As a Squad Leader, you build and grow a local developer community, organize events, connect with sponsors, and earn revenue from sponsorship deals.

## What you can do

As a Squad Leader on HackerSquad, you can:

* **Run events** — Create and manage hackathons, hack nights, workshops, and more in your region using the full [Event Management](/event-management/overview) suite
* **Find sponsors** — Use the built-in [Sponsor CRM](/squad-leaders/sponsor-crm) to track prospects and close sponsorship deals
* **Earn revenue** — Receive a commission on every sponsorship deal you close, tracked in your [Revenue](/squad-leaders/revenue) dashboard
* **Manage agreements** — Handle contracts and e-signatures with sponsors through the [Agreements](/squad-leaders/agreements) system
* **Track payouts** — Monitor your earnings and payout history in the [Payouts](/squad-leaders/payouts) section
* **Build your brand** — Set up a public [Squad Leader profile](/squad-leaders/profile-setup) to showcase your community leadership
* **Access resources** — Get event planning guides, marketing templates, and best practices from the [Resources](/squad-leaders/resources) hub

## How it works

The Squad Leader program is built on a revenue-share model. When you bring sponsors to your events, you earn a commission on each sponsorship deal — typically **70% of sponsorship revenue** goes to you, with 30% as a platform fee.

## Getting started
