Your Squad Leader profile is your public-facing page on HackerSquad. It lets builders, sponsors, and other community members learn about you and the events you run in your region.

Setting up your profile

1

Navigate to Profile Setup

Go to Profile Setup from your Squad Leader dashboard or the Squad Leaders section of your account settings.
2

Create your custom URL

Choose a unique slug for your public profile URL. Your profile will be accessible at hackersquad.io/squad-leaders/[your-slug].
3

Add your bio

Write a bio that describes who you are, your background, and what you bring to the developer community. This is visible to anyone viewing your profile.
4

Upload a photo

Add a profile photo so sponsors and builders can put a face to your name.
5

Set your region

Specify the region or city where you organize events. This helps sponsors and builders find local Squad Leaders.
6

Add social links

Connect your online presence:
  • LinkedIn — Your professional profile
  • Twitter — Your Twitter/X handle
  • Website — Your personal website or portfolio
7

List your specialties

Add comma-separated specialties to highlight your expertise areas (e.g., “AI/ML, Web3, Developer Tools, Cloud Infrastructure”).
8

Set visibility

Toggle your profile to Public to make it visible on the platform, or keep it Private while you’re still setting things up.
A complete profile with a photo, bio, and social links builds trust with potential sponsors and makes builders more likely to attend your events.

Managing your profile

You can update your profile at any time. Changes to your bio, photo, social links, and specialties take effect immediately. Your custom slug can also be changed, but keep in mind that changing it will update your public profile URL.
If you change your custom slug, any existing links to your old profile URL will stop working. Share your new URL with your contacts after making a change.
